Steve Hadley for City Council 2010
I am now endorsing Howard Wayne to succeed Councilmember Donna Frye, and ask you to do the same. He is the knowledgeable, experienced and capable candidate in this November 2 election. I’ve known Howard since I first started working with the City Council ten years ago. He was our State Assemblymember at the time. He is an intelligent, hardworking and experienced public servant. At least half of a Councilmember’s work is responding to requests for help from community members. My impression of Howard was that he really cared about helping people as an Assemblymember. I got to know some of his staff, and I knew that they too worked very hard to take care of his constituents. Most importantly, he reached out and worked equally with everyone regardless of age, race, religion, politics, gender or sexual orientation. Howard cares about and works hard for people. In the late ‘90s, when Donna Frye was working on protecting the public from unsafe levels of bacteria at our beaches and bays, she turned to Howard to help pass a law that established uniform statewide standards for water monitoring and he got the law passed He also secured state funding to begin curbside recycling in San Diego. Above all else, Howard shares our work for open, responsible and inclusive government. Howard cares about the issues that matter most to us, and he knows how to get things done in a legislative setting. I have spent a decade working every day to make our community a better place. I care deeply about the people I’ve served. I will be working for Howard Wayne’s campaign to make sure that District Six doesn’t lose all that Donna Frye has worked so hard for and all that we appreciate: open and inclusive government, fiscal accountability, and community quality of life. Please join me in supporting Howard Wayne for City Council. Go to www.howardwayneforcouncil and endorse, volunteer, contribute and put up a yard sign; and on November 2, remember to get out and vote for Howard. –Steve Hadley |
